As a part of the Melbourne Fashion Festival, we were thrilled to attend a very special sustainable runway show. We got to see some thought provoking and beautifully creative outfits that were themed around upcycling, recycled fabrics, zero waste patternmaking and using organic materials.

Lush Terrain was presented as part of the VAMFF Off Runway Series and was held in the gardens at the vibrant Fitzroy Conservatory. The perfect location for an event that was focused on looking after Mother Nature. A room full of warm flowers, sweet botanical scents, raw stone pathways, and joyfully striking sounds of the vibrant DJ.

Designers featured in this earth friendly fashion-show were Surrender Yoga, EDITION by Alice Sutton, Gehrich, Cadia Belante and Heidi Hibberd. They all truly knew what it means to tread lightly on our earth and to do it in style.

With the fashion industry being one of the top polluters around the world, these are the designers we need to start looking out for. They are standing up against pollution and demonstrating that sustainable fashion is the only way for us to move forward.

Who even has time for the typical two-week fashion turn around anymore?

We need to take what we already have and create it into something that is long-lasting, beautiful, impactful, and transforming. Lush Terrain demonstrated that the only way the fashion industry can move forward, is if it slows down.
